Issues & Solutions

A Note
from Steve:
The creators of this web site hope to inform and educate the people of Jacksonville about the unpleasant issues that we face.
The problems are great and the solutions are complicated. We expect mistakes but hope that they are new ones. We must awaken confidence that something can be done to make a difference. We firmly believe that enlisting the aid of nationally recognized professionals, such as the ones referred to on this site, will enable us to resolve these issues in an estimated 4 years! This would supersede any task force or liaison.
Educators and preventionists are working hard, but lack the staffing, resources, funding, technical support and community commitment needed for a truly successful program.
We hope that you will join us in our endeavor to lower crime and raise literacy through prevention and education - economic prosperity through social infrastructure.
Thank you for stopping at our site today and be sure to revisit for constant information updates.
Thank
you - Steve

Based on the national statistics, the issues are clear. A community that leads the nation in dropouts, teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases among youth and adults, and inadequate healthcare. Duval county is a national leader in crime and violent crime combined with a recidivism rate of 38% among whites and 54% among blacks. The social Problems are obvious.
While the problems are complex there are proven and effective solutions. For more than two decades, every study (on the national or local level) has made the same conclusions; that through education & prevention things can change. We can enjoy a better life by reducing crime, illiteracy and disease using proven cutting edge strategies that are all available on this site.
